Paula Rhyne was elected to the City Council on Nov. 2, 2021 to represent District 2. Councilmember Rhyne is the Chair to Economic & Cultural Vitality committee which includes policy areas covering arts, culture, events, and economic development. She is also the council liaison to the Parks Board, Library Board, Council of Neighborhoods, and Homelessness Advisory Commission. Councilmember Rhyne also serves on the Parks & Quality of Life committee, and Homelessness and Housing committee. In a larger capacity, Councilmember Rhyne was appointed to the Human Development Committee for the National League of Cities where she takes the stories and perspectives from residents of Everett to help inform policy on a federal level.
Paula is a two-time graduate of the University of Washington with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and a Masters Degree from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance. Her previous work experience includes working for King County Councilmembers Bob Ferguson and Rod Dembowski, the Affordable Housing Program at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle, and the University of Washington School of Medicine. She currently works as the Legislative Aide to Snohomish County Councilmember Megan Dunn. Councilmember Rhyne grew up in Snohomish County and lives with her family in the Port Gardner Neighborhood.
