This Victorian Life
Sunday, July 14, 2019
In honor of the 125th anniversary of the birth of Everett Public Library, Sarah and Gabriel Chrismen will present a costumed program entitled "This Victorian Life," in which they look at what life was like at the time of the founding of Everett Public Library.
The Chrismans live in a Victorian-era house in Port Townsend, and they “incorporate as many details of the late-nineteenth-century into our daily lives as we possibly can.” They don't have cell phones, or watch television; Sarah doesn't even have a driver's license. Living the way Victorians lived gives the couple insight as to why Victorians thought and acted as they did. “Our entire life is an ongoing research project into our favorite decades of the 1880's and '90's.” This “project also provides vibrancy and realism to Sarah’s historical novels about the period.
