    September 19, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM @ Flying Heritage Collection

In October 2005, two mountaineers on Mendel Glacier in California's High Sierra found the mummified remains of a man in a World War II uniform, entombed in the ice. The "Frozen Airman" discovery created a media storm and a mystery that drew author Peter Stekel to investigate. What happened to the four-man crew who perished on a routine navigation training flight in 1942, 150 miles off-course from its reported destination? In attempting a solution to the mystery, Stekel became part of the story when he found the remains of a second Frozen Airman in the glacier's ice. This lecture is included with your admission to the Flying Heritage Collection, and takes place during our Battle of Britain Fly Day where you will be able to see rare WWII warbirds fly.
