Vote for Carrie

Mud Bay's Volunteer Award of Excellence

Help recognize one of Everett Animal Shelter's fantastic and dedicated volunteers! Carrie has been helping care for EAS's animals for over 4 years, logging hundreds of hours.

Carrie has done it all at EAS including fostering, volunteering, transporting and even leading volunteer orientations for our Senior Dog Foster Program. Carrie volunteers two days a week in our veterinary clinic and is a trusted member of the clinic team, always willing to jump in and help in the fast-paced environment. She fosters any and all animals needed but specializes in small animals including rabbits, guinea pigs and most recently two hedgehogs that were abandoned and are recovering from surgery. Carrie is a welcoming and friendly face in the shelter that the staff and other volunteers can rely on for just about anything, we are so lucky to have her!

Show your appreciation for Carrie by voting to help her win the Mud Bay Volunteer Award of Excellence. She will receive $1,000 and EAS will receive $1,000 to help our animals!

New items needed to help more animals

The shelter's veterinary clinic is need of some new items to increase efficiency in our clinic and allow our veterinary team to help more animals. Our team needs a new surgery table and additional surgical packs in order to continue to increase the number of animals we help each week.

With a second table, our licensed veterinary technicians will have a space to prepare the next animal for surgery which will allow our vet to perform more procedures with less down time. This new table is also heated which is crucial for keeping animals warm before and after surgery.

Surgical packs are sets of sterilized tools needed for a procedure, specifically a cat spay. Having more surgical packs allows our team to spay more cats per day as they will not have to stop to clean and sterilize tools mid-day.

A new surgery table and 10 new surgical packs will total $4500.00 and we're hoping to raise the funds to purchase these essential items.

Meet Rosie

Featured Pet: Rosey

Rosie has been with us for 3 months and is ready for a fresh start! She was surrendered to the shelter after spending most of her young life living outdoors and is still learning how to be an indoor companion.

Rosie is fun, energetic and loyal and will make a wonderful pet once she settles in and her new family earns her trust. She'll thrive in a home that can offer a safe outlet for her energy and can provide training to help her be the best she can be.

Rosie is so deserving of a home outside the shelter and we can't wait to watch her blossom!

Crispih's happy tail

Crispin's happy tail!

Crispin may have had his tail amputated, but he's still got a 'happy tail' worth telling!

Crispin was brought in as a stray, lucky to be alive. He had an open wound on his front leg, was unable to use his leg and foot and had a bad fracture in his tail.

Crispin required surgery to amputate his leg and tail and spent many weeks recovering in a foster home. He made a full recovery and has since been adopted into a loving home!

His family says, "We LOVE Crispin-he is such a sweet, outgoing and chatty boy! We have started the process of introducing him to our two residents cats and it’s slow going (by the choice of my older female cat) Crispin just wants to play with his new friends! He has been getting around great and it’s been so fun to see him love life. He loves his catnip burlap sack toy as well as watching out the window with my husband who works partially remote."
