Bucky the cat
GiveBIG for Bucky

Bucky arrived at our shelter thin, matted and very sick. Like many animals that come to us, we don’t know Bucky’s story or how he came to be homeless and alone, but we do know that he had been living outside – hungry, scared, sick – for many months.

Bucky was suffering from vomiting and diarrhea and needed immediate care. After numerous tests, bloodwork and x-rays, our veterinarian diagnosed Bucky with feline hyperthyroidism. This disease can cause weight and muscle loss, weakness and behavior changes such as agitation, anxiety and aggression. Left untreated, hyperthyroidism can lead to heart failure, kidney and liver disease and often death.

It’s a miracle Bucky was still alive.

To save his life and ensure a happy and healthy future, Bucky needs to undergo radioiodine therapy. While this treatment is the safest and most effect for his condition, it is extremely expensive.

Your gift today can mean Bucky will receive the treatment
he needs to recover from his disease, regain his health and find a loving home, maybe for the first time ever.
