The latest guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention has me feeling hopeful and optimistic. It outlines the things we can do once fully vaccinated – such as safely gathering (both indoors and outdoors!) with friends and family, and actually hugging them! There are so many people I’m looking forward to spending time with again, and many activities I’m ready for, with the peace of mind that I’ll be more protected, and likewise those around me will be protected, too.
I hope we all take advantage of the opportunity to get vaccinated. Vaccines not only help protect you from getting COVID-19, but also reduce the severity if you do get sick. This week the state expanded eligibility to millions more people, including those 60 years and older, those who live or work in congregate living settings, and other at-risk critical workers. And by April 15, every person over the age of 16 in our state is eligible. Please visit the state’s VaccinateWA tool to check whether you’re eligible and find available vaccine appointments.
I know we are all ready to be active, see friends and family, and be together again as a community – the vaccine is our path to do that so please help your friends, family and neighbors get their vaccination appointment as soon as possible. Thank you!
