2020 in Review: Letter from the
Shelter Manager

This last year has been difficult for all of us, but our supporters recognized that the homeless pets in our community still needed help.

COVID-19 spread through our region and we were forced to change the way we interact, operate and communicate; but the homeless pets were unaware of the crisis. Every day, new animals came to us lost, cold, lonely and broken, with nowhere else to turn.

Despite the challenges we faced as a community and as a shelter, our network of supporters made last year one of our most successful. You helped us reunite lost pets, place cats, dogs and critters into new, loving homes and provide critical medical care, food and shelter to thousands of homeless animals that came through our doors. Because of your love, compassion and generosity, these animals were given a chance to heal from homelessness, neglect and abuse.

As we start a new year, our community of supporters make it possible for us to remain hopeful that the future is bright. Thank you for making a real difference, I wish you a very happy New Year!

Pictured above is Flower, who came to us after living in unsanitary conditions and without proper care. She was suffering from an upper respiratory infection and needed her painful, injured eye removed right away. Flower has been adopted and is flourishing!

Mr. Bo before and after

Mr. Bo's Miracle Recovery

Mr. Bo (formally Lentil) was just a tiny kitten at 4 months old when he was picked up as a stray. He was cold, hungry, flea and mite infested and suffering from the pain of a broken pelvis and hips, most likely the result of being hit by a car. It was a miracle he survived. Mr. Bo spent six weeks at our shelter and with a foster and eventually found a new home where he is loved and valued.

Mr. Bo

"We were blessed to be the ones to adopt this little guy. He purrs like crazy and kind of chirps sometimes. Here is a pic of him and the other one we rescued squeezing into the same bed. Finn is very outgoing and mischievous and has really brought Bo out of his shell. We see him getting stronger every day! He is just so sweet and loveable."
