Chickpea in her foster home

Chickpea's Next Chapter

Chickpea was just a young kitten when she arrived at our shelter as a stray. Her and her siblings were brought to us by a community member who was worried about their health.

The litter was scared, shy, dehydrated and thin and Chickpea was very small for her age. Her siblings rebounded quickly and although still shy, went on to find loving homes.

But Chickpea needed more time and because of your generous support, we were able to give her as much time as she needed to regain her health and confidence.

Chickpea endured multiple x-rays, rounds of blood work and several medications before she turned a corner on her way to health and is now thriving in her foster home.

Your donations ensured Chickpea could receive the around-the-clock care she needed to gain weight and grow big and strong, with no time limits. We can't wait to update you when Chickpea finds her forever family!

Picture of Apollo

Apollo

Some stories must be told and Apollo's is one of those. Currently his tale is one of sadness and abuse, but soon we hope it will be one of strength, triumph and love.

Apollo came to us with severe burns on most of his body. His skin was sloughing off and the wounds were so bad his muscle was exposed in some areas. The pain must have been unimaginable. His eyes were also burned and developed ulcers which required cornea surgery to prevent rupturing. Our team suspects the burns are from very hot liquid or chemicals.

Despite the trauma Apollo has endured at the hands of humans, he is sweet, loving and trusting.
We don't have a joyful story to share yet, but we are doing everything in our power to ensure this deserving young dog realizes his happy ending.

If you recently gave a gift toward Apollos care, thank you so much for responding rapidly and generously. Your donation to our Fund for the Animals will help pay for the many months of bandage changes, pain medications, anesthesia and so much for this sweet dog and all our homeless pets who are recovering from homelessness, neglect and abuse.
