City of Everett COVID-19 update
Mayor's message
I’d like to invite you to join me tomorrow for a “Q&A with Cassie” on Facebook Live. I will be answering questions I’ve been receiving, including: COVID-19 and what our transition into phase two means; Everett Police training, policies and practices; the City’s budget; and any other questions you have! You can share a question in advance via this online form. If there isn’t time to get to all questions during the Facebook Live stream, we will be sure to follow up afterwards and provide that information. If you can’t tune in at that time, we’ll post the recording to YouTube and also to the Everett Channel.

I look forward to learning about your questions, curiosities and concerns for our city and hope you’ll join in tomorrow!

Q&A with Cassie on Facebook Live: Thursday, June 11 at 2 p.m.

Face covers required for workers, strongly recommended for community members

As of June 8, workers in Washington State are now required to wear face covers except when working alone or when the job has no in-person interaction. It's also strongly recommended that everyone wear a face cover when in public to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. COVID-19 continues to be a very real threat and face covers protect others around you and help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by preventing the spread from people who are pre-symptomatic or asymptomatic. Learn more about face covers and how to make your own.

Lend a helping hand

If you’re healthy and feeling able to provide support to the community – volunteer! Volunteering has been shown to reduce depression and stress and help people live longer. The Department of Health’s recent blog has several volunteer ideas:
  • Join the Washington Mask Challenge and make cloth face coverings for organizations in need, such as nursing homes, homeless shelters, food banks and more.
  • Donate to a shelter or Food Bank and help make sure everyone has enough to eat, or donate to the Hunger Relief Fund for Washington.
  • Support nonprofits that you love, that are helping people in need, that your friends recommend to you, or to those are addressing systemic racial inequities and disparities. Also consider giving to regional funds through Philanthropy Northwest - Response to COVID-19 Outbreak.
  • Donate medical supplies or equipment you don’t need anymore. Email FEMA’s National Business Emergency Operations Center at nbeoc@fema.dhs.gov to find out how.
