[ARCHIVED] Escaped juvenile arrested

Everett Patch

EVERETT – After an extensive search, the 16 year-old who had been temporarily released from a juvenile detention center and walked away from the hospital has been located and arrested.

On the afternoon of July 12th, a 16 year-old, who had been temporarily released from Denney Juvenile Justice Center, ran from Providence Regional Medical Center where he was receiving medical attention. As officers searched for him, reports indicated he was running around North Everett in hospital scrubs.

Over the past week, numerous efforts had been made to locate him. This afternoon, the 16 year-old was located and arrested as a 17 year-old female drove him around Mukilteo. Everett’s Pro-Active Crime Unit and Criminal Intelligence Unit, along with the Snohomish County Regional Gang and Drug Task Force, ATF, and the Department of Corrections all coordinated the arrest.

The 16 year-old will be taken to Denney Juvenile Justice Center and booked for two outstanding warrants and probable cause for assault.

The vehicle involved has been impounded pending a search warrant to recover evidence.
