EVERETT – Don’t wait to nominate a deserving home or business for the 2017 Monte Cristo Awards! Everett’s Office of Neighborhoods is accepting nominations for the annual recognition through Thursday, June 1.
The Monte Cristo Awards honor property owners who have shown extensive pride in their home or business. Nominations are welcomed and encouraged from anyone who recognizes the beauty and attractiveness of properties within the city limits of Everett. Awards are given in four categories: Green Gardening, Rejuvenation and Transformation, Pride of the Neighborhood and Neighborhood Friendly Business.
Winners are chosen for making the city a special place to live through their extensive efforts to make their homes or businesses attractive and keep them well maintained. Award recipients receive a Monte Cristo Award plaque for placement on the exterior of their home or business. The Everett Council of Neighborhoods and the City of Everett Office of Neighborhoods sponsor the awards. An awards ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave. All are welcome to attend.
Nomination forms are available online at everettwa.gov/montecristo, or at Everett Library branches, the City of Everett’s office lobby in the Wall Street Building, the PUD, and local home improvement, paint and lumber stores.
Forms are also available through neighborhood associations, or by contacting Jaimee Hudson at the Office of Neighborhoods, at 425-257-7195 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
