Pets safety tips for the high winds hitting our area now. Wind gusts and flying objects can injure or frighten pets. Take precautions to keep your companion animals safe and secure. Dogs and cats may run away or get disoriented when fences blow down, objects fall or fly in the wind. The noise of a big gust can frighten them.
-Bring your pets inside. Do not leave you pets outside alone during the storm. Supervise potty breaks and if possible take dogs outside on a leash.
-Make sure all your pets are wearing collars and tags with up-to-date identification. If your pet has a microchip call the chip company to make sure your information is up-to-date.
-After the storm is over check all fencing for any broken boards and lock all gates before you let your pet outside.
