[ARCHIVED] Rapist arrested in Everett

EPD Patch

EVERETT – The Everett Police Department arrests a man suspected of a 2014 rape.

On Tuesday evening, September 20, 2016, Everett Police detectives arrested an Arlington man suspected of multiple violent rapes. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail after evidence and victim statements tied the suspect to a 2014 rape case. In that case, detectives had investigated a rape and collected physical evidence, but were unable to successfully identify a suspect. However, as other rape cases were reported, detectives pieced together information and identified a suspect who lived in Arlington.

The suspect talked with detectives last night and admitted to having violent sex with the victim and mentioned other physically violent sexual encounters with other victims. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for 1st degree rape (RCW 9A.44.0401).

Detectives are working with other law enforcement agencies to investigate the other possible rape cases.

No updates on this case are expected today.
