[ARCHIVED] Stolen vehicle crashes in Everett

EVERETT – Everett Police arrest the driver of a stolen vehicle after it crashes in Everett.

At about 9:30 this morning, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a stolen pickup truck in the Getchell area. Local law enforcement saw the truck being driven erratically and it failed to stop for them. Due to community safety concerns, the vehicle was not pursued. Reports later indicated the truck was driving southbound from Marysville to Everett on northbound I-5 where it exited onto SE Everett Mall Way.

At about 10:00 am, Everett officers saw the truck on SE Everett Mall Way and tried to keep the roadway clear. However, the truck struck three vehicles in the intersection of 3rd Ave SE and SE Everett Mall Way. The driver, a 32 year old female, ran from the scene into a nearby apartment complex where she threatened a witness before running into the woods. A police K-9 was used to find her.

The female was arrested and taken to a local hospital where she will be medically evaluated for the collision and K-9 bite. She is expected to be booked into the Snohomish County Jail on multiple criminal charges which include hit & run, reckless driving, and felony harassment.

The occupants of the vehicles hit by the truck sustained only minor injuries and were medically released at the scene.

Criminal charges from other law enforcement agencies may be referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for consideration. The other involved agencies include Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, Marysville Police, Lake Stevens Police, and the Washington State Patrol.

No police vehicles or officers were struck during the incident.
