[ARCHIVED] Fireworks are illegal in Everett

EVERETT - The Everett Police Department reminds residents that fireworks are illegal within the City of Everett.

Everett Municipal Code prohibits the possession and/or discharge of fireworks within city limits. Special enforcement units are now targeting fireworks and users. By law, all fireworks will be seized and destroyed with penalties for users to include criminal citations with large fines and/or jail time.

To report fireworks, call 425-407-3999.

The City of Everett is hosting the Thunder on the Bay Fireworks show on the 4th of July at 10:20 p.m. over Port Gardner Bay. The public is welcome!

Everett Fire Chief Eric Hicks warns the recent hot and dry weather increases the potential for fires to property and that all types of fireworks can injure people.
