[ARCHIVED] Fatal motorcycle collision in Everett

Everett Patch

EVERETT – Traffic Safety Unit detectives are investigating a fatal motorcycle collision in Everett.

Just before 2 p.m. this afternoon, officers responded to the report of a collision involving a motorcycle and a commercial vehicle (box truck) in the intersection of Evergreen Way and Center Road. Arriving officers assessed the scene and determined the motorcyclist had died from injuries he sustained in the collision.

Everett Police Traffic Safety Unit detectives responded to the incident. Based on their preliminary investigation, the adult male motorcyclist was northbound when he struck the back end of a box truck turning left onto Center Road from Evergreen Way. Detectives will determine if speed was a factor.

The driver of the box truck, an adult male, remained at the scene. It does not appear alcohol or drugs were factors in his driving.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the body to determine identity as well as cause and manner of death.

Traffic on northbound Evergreen Way were reduced to one lane for over an hour but are open now.
