EVERETT – Members of the Community Streets Initiative task force will reconvene Tuesday, April 19, from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Hampton Inn Everett, located at 2931 West Marine View Drive. The task force will discuss progress made since they issued their final report and recommendations in November 2014, and will hear about the City’s current priorities for addressing street-level social issues in Everett’s commercial core areas.

The task force, a 23-member group comprised of business owners, residents, and nonprofit, faith-based and health care leaders, developed a final report and a subsequent implementation plan that identified priority areas, strategies, and important partners needed to address them. Today those learnings are infused into the day-to-day work of City staff.

In September 2015, to further address actions recommended by the task force, Mayor Ray Stephanson announced the Safe Streets Plan, which addresses three main priorities of housing, diversion and enforcement in a comprehensive and effective way. Learn more at www.everettwa.gov/safestreets.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, which will be recorded for broadcast on the Everett Channel. For meeting details, visit everettwa.gov/calendar.aspx?EID=1643. For more information on the task force, visit Read full news release
