EAS is at capacity with cats, here's how you can help
The shelter is currently at capacity and then some with more than 125 homeless cats, and many are sick with upper respiratory infections which spread quickly in a shelter environment. We are doing our best to get the sick cats healthy and keep the healthy cats from getting sick and into new homes!
Here's how you can help!
- If you find a stray cat that appears healthy,
please do your best to find it's family on your own without bringing it to the shelter where we have very
limited space and it would be at risk of getting sick. Here are some resources on reuniting the cat with it's family:
* Make and hang flyers
* Attach a paper collar to the cat to see if you can get in touch with the owner:
http://www.llbrhs.com/.../94815396/paper-collar-template.pdf
* Post the cat on social media lost pet pages/groups, Lost Cats of Snohomish
County is a great resource:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1448930835375879
* File a found pet report here:
https://www.everettwa.gov/2875/Found-Pets
- If you find a litter of kittens,
please refer to our website first:
https://www.everettwa.gov/2892/Community-Kittens
. We will do our best to take in stray kittens as space allows.
-
If you are looking to rehome your cat
, please know we have a waiting list that is 8-12 weeks out. You can try to find a new home on your own by using our free service, Rehome:
https://www.everettwa.gov/158/Rehome-Your-Pet
. This program connects prospective adopters and pets, and provides resources so you can safely place your pet into a new loving home.
- Donate!
We continue to need community support to care for the hundreds of cats in our care and even more to come:

- Adopt!
We currently have 40 cats and kittens posted to our website that are ready for their new homes!

Thank you!
