[ARCHIVED] Fire crews respond to apartment fire on 75th Street SE

Just before 4:30 pm Friday, Feb. 12, Everett Fire Department crews responded to a report of smoke coming from an apartment in the 1000 block of 75th Street SE.

Arriving crews found an apartment filled with smoke and an unresponsive male resident on the floor. One crew removed the patient and started CPR as other crews continued with locating and extinguishing the fire. The patient was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett where he passed away just after 6 p.m.

The fire was contained to one apartment, but two families were displaced and are being helped by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The cause and manner of the resident’s death will be determined by the medical examiner and released at a later date.
