Construction alert - traffic camera outage
To prepare for a Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) project in the Boulevard Bluffs neighborhood, Everett Public Works removed a cable that provides communications to six Southwest Everett Industrial Area traffic cameras. The “camera not available” image will be displayed for the next week or two on Everett’s traffic camera webpage everettwa.gov/trafficcams. Public Works is in the process of restoring communication with a wireless connection as soon as possible.
WSDOT’s SR 526, Airport Road to East Casino Road – seismic retrofit project
WSDOT will start work Jan. 29 retrofitting SR 526 bridges on Airport Road, Hardeson Road/5th, and Casino Road. During WSDOT’s construction, there will be barrier and traffic control set up to protect vehicles and pedestrians that will narrow the effective width of the roadway. Daytime flagging (one lane / two directions) will be ongoing through the spring. At night the road will be open to two lanes, one lane in each direction. The work will occur on a side of the street, then switch to the other side as restoration work is complete. Significant congestion is not expected, but there may be some localized backups near Cascade High School at the end of the school day. The project will improve lighting under the bridge near Cascade High, as they have to remove the old lighting to strengthen the pier cap. WSDOT will also be restoring the sidewalk removed for the work. See WSDOT’s project webpage for more information.
