EVERETT, Wash. – Everett Parks invites community members and their four-legged friends to the grand opening for the new Lowell Riverfront Trail off-leash dog park (2901 Lowell-Snohomish Rd.) on Thursday, June 30 at 3 p.m.
Mayor Cassie Franklin, Everett City Council members and Parks Board members will join Everett parks to welcome community members and their dogs to the new dog park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Everett Animal Shelter will also be there to provide dog treats and information about the shelter and animal services.
“Our pets are important members of our families and bring so much joy to our city,” said Mayor Franklin. “Thank you to our amazing Parks team for building this beautiful dog park for our furry community members and their families.”
The dog park is located along Lowell Riverfront Trail and, at nearly one acre, is the largest designated off-leash area in the park system. Design features include a secure sally-port entry with a Mutt Mitt station, rustic rail fencing, native landscaping and a scenic seating and picnic area for pet owners and pet lovers to socialize.
Everett is certified as a pet-friendly city by BETTER CITIES FOR PETS™ which recognizes cities for their programs and policies that help pets and their owners live happy, healthy lives.
