For several years, major construction projects on Everett’s transmission lines have been limited to Transmission Line 5 (5 Line or TL5), and the “Transmission Line 5” newsflash category was created for customers impacted by service interruptions on the 5 Line.
On Wednesday, September 27, Everett will shut down Transmission Line 3 (3 Line or TL3) for up to 72 hours. To aid in keeping people who are impacted by the 3 Line shutdown up to date, the TL5 newsflash category has been renamed "Transmission Line Maintenance" and may include information about maintenance on any of Everett’s transmission lines in the future. The easy to remember web address for the project page is now everettwa.gov/TLM.
While work on the transmission lines is part of a regular maintenance program, service interruptions are not frequent, so we do not anticipate sending a high number of communications after this planned shutdown is complete. Unsubscribing is an option available for those who prefer not to receive emails or text messages about this topic. Doing so, however, will end receipt of updates on all future transmission line work.
To avoid temporary interruptions in water service
Getting household water directly from a transmission line involves periodic service interruptions. Everett encourages those connected to our transmission lines to pursue connecting to a nearby water distribution system. Call Everett’s 24-hour Dispatch number (425-257-8821) and ask to speak to a water maintenance supervisor to learn more.
