[ARCHIVED] No injuries in 2-alarm North Everett apartment fire

2232 12th st

EVERETT, WA – Dispatchers received multiple 911 calls around 9:15 a.m. reporting a fire in one of the units at Cascadian Apartments at 2232 12th St. Arriving fire crews found a working fire in one of the units and quickly upgraded the response to a second alarm fire.

Firefighters worked quickly to contain and extinguish the fire. Fire damage was contained to the first-floor apartment where the fire started, and a neighboring apartment sustained smoke and water damage.

All occupants of the involved apartment self-evacuated, while several neighbors required assistance in evacuating their apartments. There were no injuries to residents or firefighters. Sadly, two cats were found deceased, and one more may be outstanding. The American Red Cross has been called to assist the displaced residents.

Everett Police assisted with traffic control. Marysville Fire District and Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue provided mutual aid.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Everett Fire Marshal’s Office.
