Community invited to participate in Everett’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan update

Rethink community wellbeing - planning for parks, recreation and open spaces

EVERETT, Wash. – Everett is developing an update to its current Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan. The new 2022 plan will be based on an extensive public outreach process and will create a vision and outline future service levels, capital projects, maintenance policies and funding options for the parks system.

The PROS plan will allow the City to be eligible for state grants through the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO). The PROS Plan will also support other City plans and budgets.

Stakeholder outreach begins in Spring 2021 with a survey, sharing of information and opportunities for discussion. In Summer 2021, the City will share park system improvement concepts with opportunities for pop up events and other activities. A draft PROS Plan will be developed in Fall 2021 and shared at public meetings and online.  The plan must be adopted by March 1, 2022 to meet RCO requirements.

Participate and share ideas online

Community members are invited to rethink community wellbeing and create a sustainable and inclusive park system by participating in the PROS plan update.

Visit the project website for more information at everettwa.gov/PROSplan and take the vision survey at surveymonkey.com/r/EverettParksViz.
