The City of Everett Cultural Arts Commission invites nominations for the 2020 Mayor’s Arts Awards and the prestigious Richard Wendt Award of Excellence.
EVERETT, Wash. – The City of Everett Cultural Arts Commission invites nominations for the 2020 Mayor’s Arts Awards and the prestigious Richard Wendt Award of Excellence. The awards recognize the accomplishments of artists, arts and cultural organizations, and community members committed to enriching quality of life in Everett through the arts.
In recognition of Everett’s growing arts community, the commission created the Mayor’s Arts Awards, now in their eleventh year. The awards honor art educators, artists in the community and organizations supporting the arts, all of whom demonstrate promise and commitment to the Everett arts community. Community members are encouraged to nominate individuals and organizations that have contributed to the arts in Everett.
This is the 28th year of the Richard Wendt Award of Excellence, a lifetime achievement award given to individuals whose strong support of the arts has been ongoing through philanthropic and volunteer service.
Nominations must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30. The Cultural Arts Commission will review the nominations and select the recipients. The awards, which are non-monetary, are presented annually.
The free annual award ceremony is held traditionally in February. However, in light of COVID-19, the Cultural Arts Commission is considering different options for the award ceremony. To submit a nomination and stay up to date on event details, visit everettwa.gov/artsawards.
