[ARCHIVED] Road closure alert: Colby Avenue closure at 37th Street

City of Everett road closure alert

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE

Utility Improvement Project

Work on the Sewer O Utility Upgrades Project during the week of Sept. 20-25, will require a complete closure of the intersection of Colby Avenue & 37th Street. One block of Colby Avenue between 37th and 38th Streets & one block on 37th Street between Colby and Wetmore Avenues will remain closed around the clock. This work is for the Sewer O Utility project

Previously, it was thought that the roadway would open up during non-working hours, but it has been determined that it will not be possible to move traffic through the work zone. A traffic detour will be in place. The City’s contractor, Interwest Construction, will install an 84-inch-diameter manhole in the intersection of 37th and Colby and lay piping in the roadway. As soon as the manhole and piping are installed, the roadway will be opened up to through traffic during non-working hours. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience to you. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we complete this necessary project.
