[ARCHIVED] Public Comment Period for Proposed Modifications to Animal Services Fees

The City of Everett Animal Services is providing proposed fee modifications for public review and comment. Revenue from the fees helps cover the Everett Animal Shelter’s operating costs of caring for approximately 5000 animals each year. The proposal includes changes to animal impound, surrender, euthanasia, cremation, pet license, adoption and veterinary fees. The fee revision proposal is available for review at /DocumentCenter/View/25753/2020-Proposed-Fee-Changes.

The public comment period was from August 10, 2020 through September 10, 2020. A virtual public meeting will be held on September 23, 2020 at 5:30 pm. Community members are invited to attend and provide comments on the fee proposal. Instructions on how to provide comments at the meeting will be posted at www.everettwa.gov/Animal-Shelter-Advisory-Board. Following the comment period and public meeting, Animal Services will present the final determination to City Council. New fees will go into effect November 1, 2020.

NOTE: Everett Municipal Code 6.04.100 provides for a formal review process when fees are administratively established and changed. A public meeting and comment period is part of this process.
