(Original Release: May 12, 2020)
EVERETT, WA – One man arrested in weekend assault and robbery in Everett.
Just before 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, 911 received numerous calls reporting an injured man in the area of 6300 Rockefeller Ave. Arriving officers found a 39 year-old man with a gunshot wound to the face. The man told officers a woman invited him to a nearby house to discuss her recently stolen RV. Once inside, the woman, her boyfriend and a 46 year-old male accused him of stealing the RV, beat him and stole his phone. To escape, the man broke through the living room window and was shot as he fled. The man went to a nearby house for help.
The 39 year-old man was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett with serious injuries and was later transferred to Harborview Medical Center. He is expected to survive.
Officers went to the incident location in the 2000 block of Lexington Ave and located the 46 year-old male. When asked, he told officers several versions of an altercation that occurred in the residence. The male admitted shooting the 39 year-old, but stated it was in self-defense.
Given the information provided and physical evidence available, officers believe the woman thought the 39 year-old stole her RV and invited him to the residence where he was assaulted. The 46 year-old was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail on probable cause for assault and robbery.
