[ARCHIVED] Construction Alert: Baker Ave. from 15th to 21st Streets

City of Everett construction alert

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE

Water Main Replacement “U”

Work has begun on a water main replacement project along Baker Ave. from 15th to 21st Streets. Road Construction Northwest Inc. is doing the work. Normal work hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The purpose of this project is to replace an aging cast iron water main that serves your neighborhood. This will reduce the risk of water main breaks. Public Works construction is considered essential and authorized under the Governor’s Stay Home, Stay Healthy orders.

Pipe installation began at 15th Street, will proceed toward 23rd Street and is expected to take approximately three months. Restoration will follow. All scheduled dates and durations are weather dependent.

During work hours, access to the block where the contractor is working will be restricted with traffic control flaggers in place during the day. Expect lane closures and parking restrictions. The contractor will notify affected residents prior to the closures. Emergency vehicles will always have access to homes in the work area. Field staff will be available on site to provide project information.

When installation of the pipe is complete, the existing water main will have to be shutoff to make the final connections. During this process, some homes will be temporarily without water. We will notify affected homes 24 hours prior to any outages.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you.
