EVERETT, WA - Detectives investigate bank robbery in Everett.
On Monday, a 50 year-old Everett man was convicted on two counts of bank robbery but was temporarily released to visit his sick mother prior to being incarcerated. Violating the agreement to turn himself in, the man entered a bank in the 7600 block of Evergreen Way at noon today. He approached the employee, stated he had a gun, demanded money and fled after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash. Despite an extensive search, officers were unable to locate the man but identified him from bank surveillance video.
Unconnected to the bank robbery, the Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) began searching for the 50 year-old when he didn’t turn himself in. The task force located the man in Edmonds and arrested him without incident.
The 50 year-old was booked into the Snohomish County Jail
No injuries were reported by bank employees.
