News release from Naval Station Everett:

Naval Station Everett Emergency Response to Suspicious Package: Latest Update

EVERETT, Wash. - At approximately 8:15 a.m. Naval Station Everett activated its emergency operations center in response to suspicious package at the base North Gate.

After thorough examination of the package, Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) determined that the device was not a threat. Base personnel have been released from sheltered in place.

Naval Station Everett appreciates the immediate assistance from Everett Police Department, City of Everett, Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), and other responding agencies.

According to Navy policy, all suspicious package threats are taken seriously to ensure the safety of everyone on base and in the community.
