[ARCHIVED] Shooting in North Everett

EVERETT, WA – Major Crimes detectives are investigating a residential shooting in North Everett.

Just before 8:30 p.m. this evening, 911 received reports of gunfire in the 1800 block of Chestnut St. Arriving officers located the incident location and found a man who had been shot multiple times. Even with lifesaving efforts, the man died at the scene.

Major Crimes detectives are investigating the incident and will talk with neighbors, witnesses and those involved. Initial reports indicate a male homeowner was returning home when he had an altercation with the man in his front yard. The homeowner yelled for his wife to call 911 and multiple shots were fired.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will take custody of the deceased male to determine the cause and manner of death as well as determine identity.

At this time, it is believed that everyone directly involved in the incident has been accounted for. The relationship between the two males is unknown as is the cause of the altercation. Detectives will continue their investigation into the timeline and reason for the incident.
