Update: Naval Station Everett will conduct upcoming trainings as scheduled for Jan. 29 and 30, with the addition of an exercise Thursday, Jan. 23.
EVERETT, Wash. - Naval Station Everett will be conducting emergency response training exercises on the days of Jan. 14, 21, 29, and 30 at its main Everett base. The exercises are scheduled to occur each day from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Gates will be closed briefly for 10 minute intervals throughout the exercise.
The exercise will include mass warning notifications on outdoor speakers, an increased presence of security and small boats in the harbor, and the use of blank rounds to simulate gunfire.
The Navy regularly conducts training exercises to maintain and improve security and emergency response qualifications. These exercises help prepare for a potential real emergency.
