EVERETT, WA – The Everett Animal Shelter was selected as a 2019 Holiday Wishes recipient by the Petco Foundation. The grant amount, between $5,000-100,000, will be revealed at the Petco Foundation Grant Celebration on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. at Petco in Shoreline (1241 N 205th St., Shoreline).
The Everett Animal Shelter was nominated for this award by the family who adopted Noodle, a puppy with paralyzed back legs. Noodle’s family submitted a story to the Petco Foundation about how she brightens their life and inspires them and others to overcome challenges.
“Noodle’s condition required specialized care when she came to us in 2017,” said Lindsay Roe, shelter development manager. “Thanks to generous donations to our Fund for the Animals, animals like Noodle receive the extraordinary care they need while they wait for their forever families.”
The Everett Animal Shelter is also a finalist in the Petco Foundation’s Holiday Wishes competition for an opportunity to earn up to an additional $25,000 in funding. Animal lovers and Noodle fans can vote for the shelter for the People’s Choice Award Competition from Dec. 6-20. Visit petcofoundation.org/vote and vote for “Everett Animal Shelter: Bree & Noodle.”
The Everett Animal Shelter accepts approximately 5,000 animals each year. Shelter staff and volunteers work hard to improve the health, safety and happiness of pets waiting to find or reunite with loving families.
