[ARCHIVED] Breach of the City of Snohomish North Zone Water Reservoir

drinking water sample

The Everett water system supplies water to a network of local water providers, including the City of Snohomish (Snohomish). Everett does not receive water from Snohomish. Everett conducts routine water quality sampling a minimum of two and as much as three times a week. Water quality samples from the week of 8/26 show Everett’s water continues to be safe to drink and meets all applicable water quality standards.

Everett is conducting additional water quality sampling today (Aug. 29) and tomorrow at sites in proximity to Snohomish; samples will be taken to Everett’s environmental laboratory for analysis. Results take approximately 18 hours and are expected to be available midday Friday, Aug. 30.

Everett is working closely with Snohomish and will continue to sample on a day-to-day basis until the Snohomish water quality event concludes. Everett’s environmental laboratory is accredited by the Washington Department of Ecology and the Washington Department of Health to perform analyses under the regulations administered by these agencies.

Everett’s water quality test results will be posted online and, if necessary, Everett Utility will communicate directly with customers.

Information on Everett’s water system, including a map of its service area, can be found at everettwa.gov/water.
