Hoyt
The contractor completed demolition of the east sidewalk and began directional boring and irrigation work in support of creating a new sidewalk.
Rucker
The Rucker/Everett Avenue intersection was closed briefly in support of the waterline work. The contractor completed the tie in of the Phase 1 water line and closed the Hewitt/Rucker intersection to begin Phase 2 waterline work between Hewitt and Pacific Avenues. The waterline work will be ongoing. The contractor also began demolition and grading from Everett Avenue to California, laid storm drain pipe and installed electrical and irrigation crossings.

Hoyt
The contractor will continue directional boring and irrigation work and will pour curbs.
Rucker
The contractor will continue to lay storm drain pipe, including into the Hewitt intersection. It will also continue roadway demolition and grading from Everett to California and installing electrical and irrigation crossings.
The Hewitt/Rucker intersection will remain closed until the completion of Phase 1 work, sometime this fall. A pedestrian detour route will be available through the area. Vehicular access on Rucker Avenue between Hewitt and Wall will also remain open, including turnaround space at the top of the roadway. A flagger will be present at the Hewitt/Rucker intersection at all times. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction from Pacific to Wall; restricted to local business/residential access only from Wall to Hewitt. No through traffic will be allowed. The signed detour that has been in place will remain.
During the waterline work, there will be intermittent loss of water service for several hours at a time. The contractor will notify customers prior to service interruptions.
Future closures of the Rucker and Everett Avenue intersection will occur later in the project in support of the waterline work.

Pedestrian access
The contract provides for an ADA compliant 6-foot protected and lighted pedestrian path, and any pedestrian detours will be signed. Pedestrians are discouraged from traveling in the work zone, but when necessary, the contractor is required to provide escorts during work hours.
Business entrances
Business entrances will always be accessible either via an existing sidewalk or a temporary asphalt sidewalk.
Work hours
Project work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with possible evening work. Everett’s noise ordinance prohibits work between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. during the week and between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. on weekends unless a variance has been issued.
