The contractor continued concrete paving and work to establish a crosswalk mid-block, near the south end of Imagine Children’s Museum.
The contractor continued work on the storm drain and on the waterline.
Paving will continue into next week. The contractor will construct a temporary asphalt pedestrian path in preparation for demolishing the east sidewalk.
Storm drain work will continue into next week, and waterline work will continue for the next few weeks. During the waterline work, there will be intermittent loss of water service for several hours at a time. The contractor will notify customers prior to service interruptions.
Note: The contractor will close the intersection of Hewitt and Rucker starting on August 19 to continue waterline work. This intersection work is part of Phase 1 of the project and is necessary to perform in advance of the Phase 2 waterline work that will take place between Hewitt and Wall. The contractor kept the intersection open as long as possible to minimize impacts to traffic in the area. The intersection will remain closed until the completion of Phase 1 work, sometime this fall.
Future closures of the Rucker and Everett Avenue intersection will occur later in the project in support of the waterline work.
