Everett Parks & Community Services is performing turf and accessibility improvement work at Harborview Park in partnership with Everett Public Works and Everett’s Port Gardner Rotary Club. Improvements to the turf and construction of a new accessibility perimeter trail will be completed in two phases.
Phase one, taking place this spring and summer, consists of renovating turf and constructing an accessible path leading from the parking lot to the accessible picnic table. Uneven turf will be tilled and leveled, and amendments will be added to the soil before being hydro-seeded. Phase one of the path construction was completed in April in partnership with Everett’s Port Gardner Rotary Club.
Hydro-seeding will take place after July 4 due to anticipation of community members viewing fireworks from the park. Turf renovations are expected to be complete by mid-July. After hydro-seeding, visitors are asked to avoid walking over newly-seeded areas until the turf has been mowed.
Phase two consists of continuing the perimeter path toward the wooded area of Harborview Park and connecting it to the city sidewalk. Phase two work will begin at a later date.
