[ARCHIVED] City administrative services building renamed Everett Municipal Building

EMB

EVERETT, WA – Currently known as the Wall Street Building, the building at 2930 Wetmore Ave., which is home to many City services and administrative teams, will be called the Everett Municipal Building. The City Council approved the name change at its May 15 meeting and exterior signage is being replaced next week.

“Our goal is to make it easier for our community members and businesses to find and access the services they need,” said Paul Kaftanski, executive director of transportation and infrastructure. “The new name will hopefully reduce confusion and more accurately reflect the many City functions that are housed in this building.”

The City’s Historical Commission unanimously approved the recommended name change after its public hearing held on April 23. Construction of the City-owned building was completed in 1983 and has had the name “Wall Street Building” since then.

The Everett Municipal Building is home to the Mayor and City Council, the City Clerk and City Attorney, and a number of centralized City teams, including Human Resources and Information Technology. The building also houses several non-City tenants.
