EVERETT – Detectives with the Traffic Safety Unit are investigating a suspicious death of an adult female, found in the roadway in north Everett.
At about 9:30 p.m. on May 25, officers were dispatched to assist the Everett Fire Department with a person down in the 1300 block of Grand Avenue. Upon arrival, an adult female with serious injuries was found lying in the roadway. CPR was started and the female was transported to Providence Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead a short time later. Initial indications were that the female was struck by a vehicle, which subsequently fled the scene and has yet to be identified.
The Everett Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit responded to the scene to investigate the collision and attempt to reconstruct what occurred. Officers canvased the immediate area searching for video, witnesses and other evidence.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has taken custody of the body and will be responsible for releasing her identity, after next of kin notifications.
