EVERETT, WA – Everett pet owners will begin receiving annual pet license renewal notices via email, beginning with pet licenses expiring June 30, 2019. The Everett Animal Shelter will begin emailing renewal notices in May to pet owners with an email address currently on file.
On average, the Everett Animal Shelter mails more than 250 pet license renewal notices each month. Email notices will reduce printing and mailing costs, saving approximately $3,400 annually. Delinquent notices will still be mailed to pet owners with expired pet licenses.
All cats and dogs six months of age and older living within Everett city limits are required by law to be licensed annually. License fees help support the animal welfare efforts of the Everett Animal Shelter, including the adoption, spay/neuter, veterinary medical treatment of shelter animals and animal control services. Pet licenses also help reunite lost or stray animals with their families when properly attached to a pet’s collar.
Pet owners are encouraged to renew their licenses online prior to the expiration date to avoid late fees and keep their pet’s license current.
Animal lovers can also help shelter animals by donating to the Everett Animal Shelter’s Fund for the Animals. Learn more about supporting the Shelter at everettwa.gov/170/Donate.
