[ARCHIVED] Celebrate Earth Day with Everett Parks & Community Services

Volunteer at Johnston Kelly Park

Earth Day comes to Johnston-Kelly Park

The public is invited to join students and Everett Parks & Community Services staff to celebrate Earth Day and preserve and beautify the city’s parks and open spaces. View Ridge Elementary will carry on a decades-long tradition of celebrating Earth Day with environmental stewardship at Johnston-Kelly Park on Friday, April 26, from 1-2 p.m.

Students will help plant new vegetation and assist parks staff in maintaining the 4.8-acre greenbelt, located at 49th Street SW and Forest Drive. Johnston-Kelly Park is as an outdoor biodiversity classroom for the school and local community groups. View Ridge students have helped build up the park for more than 20 years and the students visit monthly during school for environmental education lessons and service.
