Everett Transit seeking input on low-income fares

EVERETT, WA – The Everett City Council is evaluating the introduction of a low-income fare category for Everett Transit. To inform their final decision, expected on April 17, Everett Transit is asking for public input on what fare structure the community and current riders prefer.

City Council already approved a new fare structure effective July 1, 2019: $2 Adult, $1.50 Youth and $0.50 Seniors/Disabled. The public is asked to provide input on the potential introduction of a low-income fare by selecting one of three options: a $1.50 low-income fare, a consolidated discounted $1 fare, or maintaining the current fare structure, which does not include a low-income category. Detail about each option can be viewed online.

Everett Transit will hold a series of public meetings on the low-income fare options. The community is encouraged to provide feedback by attending a meeting and completing the online survey, which is available now through April 14, 2019. The survey results will be provided to the City Council to help inform their final decision on the matter.

Low-income fare public meetings:

Wednesday, March 27, noon – 2 p.m., Everett Senior Center, 3025 Lombard Ave

Wednesday, April 3, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Bakerview Community Center, 1401 Poplar St
