The Everett Planning Commission held a meeting on February 19, 2019 to discuss the following:


Item 1: Shoreline Master Program Periodic Update – Joint Public Hearing

The City of Everett and Washington State Department of Ecology are conducting a joint public review of Everett’s Shoreline Master Program (SMP) and seek public comment on the proposed amendments, including revision of implementing code and comprehensive plan provisions.The January 16, 2019 version of the proposed SMP is available on the project webpage at https://everettwa.gov/1836/Shoreline-Master-Program-Periodic-Review.


Item 2: Critical Areas Public Hearing

A public hearing to consider amendments to the city’s critical areas ordinance and its applicability to areas subject to the Shoreline Management Act. The proposal is to have one set of critical area regulations applicable throughout the city, and to update the code to include latest guidance on protected species and buffers.


Item 3: Land Use Element Briefing

A briefing on amendments to the city’s Land Use Element. Prior briefings focused on the land use consolidation proposal. This briefing will look at the addition of East Marine View Drive as a

gateway corridor and amendments to Special Geographic Areas Land Use Policies


Item 4: Metro Everett and Off-Street Parking Code Amendments

This is a briefing to review a package of amendments to address consistency and other fixes to the package of ordinances adopted for Metro Everett and city-wide off-street parking. A public

hearing is scheduled for March 5, 2019.
