The unique partnership between the Everett School District and the City will offer internship opportunities to high school students looking to earn high school credits and gain insight into local businesses.

EVERETT, WA – Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin announced the launch of the Everett Career Link program during her State of the City address on Thursday, Jan. 31. The unique partnership between the Everett School District and the City will offer internship opportunities to high school students looking to earn high school credits and gain insight into local businesses.

“Providing pathways for our students is very important,” said Mayor Cassie Franklin. “Not only for their future success, but for the health and economic vitality of our entire community. We want students to know about the great career opportunities in their own backyard!”

“We applaud Mayor Franklin’s ingenuity, her foresight, and her leadership in establishing this opportunity for more students to become career ready,” said Superintendent Dr. Gary Cohn. “Collaborative efforts like this between the City of Everett and Everett Public Schools are the way of the future.”

In addition to the City and school district, businesses like Kaiser Permanente and Providence have already signed on to host interns this summer through the Everett Career Link program. The program provides companies the opportunity to increase productivity, have access to new, innovative perspectives and change the lives of youth in our community.

“This jobs partnership will open doors for employers to host interns, will provide tremendously improved opportunities for our students to get real-world career experiences while earning high school credits, and will aid our region’s economic health for years to come,” said Cohn.

Everett Career Link will offer and facilitate a 90-hour summer internship to students and businesses looking to take a proactive approach to local talent. More information can be found at www.everettwa.gov/EverettCareerLink.
