We encourage all pet owners to microchip their pets so that if a pet is lost, it is much easier to reunite them with their families.
A microchip is a small, permanent piece of identification that is injected under the skin between the shoulder blades of your pet (about the size of a piece of rice). This permanent ID can be read by a special scanner at most vet clinics and animal shelters. The ID number contained within the microchip needs to be registered in your name with a national database. If your pet is lost, the microchip will be scanned and then traced to you, making reuniting with your lost pet faster and easier.
The Everett Animal Shelter offers microchipping services, no appointment needed. Learn more and get your pet microchipped today!
