Starting the week of September 17, City crews will begin to install a larger water main along Rucker Avenue. Normal work hours will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and is expected to take a month to complete. The water main replacement (see map here) will accommodate the new YMCA facility on the former Everett School District site.
Installation of the water main requires excavation in the roadway. During construction, there will be traffic revisions and possible road closures. Signs will be posted advising motorists of the changes and flaggers will be on hand to assist local residents.
When installation is complete, the water line will be shut down to make the final connections. During this process, you may not have water service. City crews will notify affected homes 24 hours prior to the shutdown.
The work is expected to take about a month to complete. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you.
