Fatal hit and run collision in Everett

EVERETT – Detectives with the Traffic Safety Unit are investigating a hit and run collision that killed a female in Everett.

Just after 8:00 pm on September 8th, officers were dispatched to the 9700 block of 19th Ave SE on the report of hit and run collision. Responding officers found an adult female had been struck and killed by a vehicle that did not remain at the scene.

Detectives with the Traffic Safety Unit believe the female, in her late 50’s, was crossing 19th Ave SE in an eastbound direction when a northbound vehicle struck her. At this time, detectives believe the suspect vehicle is a red SUV likely to have damage to the front.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the body to determine cause and manner of death and will provide identity once family has been notified.

19th Ave SE was closed for about 2 hour during the investigation.
