[ARCHIVED] Homicide investigation in Everett

Everett Patch

EVERETT – Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit are investigating a shooting that killed one male in Everett.

Just before 10:15 am this morning, officers responded to the 700 block of Madison Ave on the report of a shooting. Arriving officers secured the area and attempted to contact the occupants of the house. When this failed, a window was breached and officers observed it was safe for them to enter. Inside, officers found a deceased male, in his 40’s, who had been shot. A second male, in his 90’s, was taken into custody. It was reported, but not confirmed, that the males are related as grandfather and grandson.

Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit responded to investigate.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will take custody of the body to determine cause and manner of death and will provide identity.

As a precaution, the elderly male was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for an assessment.

Madison Ave was closed to traffic for almost two hours as officers worked this incident but is now open.
