Update to previous neighborhood notification:
Due to high temperatures this week, paving is delayed and is now expected to take place Wednesday, Aug. 15 and Thursday, Aug. 16. Hot weather is interfering with work that must take place in advance of laying the pavement.
A reminder that paving work is happening on a 7 block stretch of 19th Street from Broadway to Grand, and a short section of Lombard from 19th to 17th. Detours are in place, and drivers are encouraged to plan a little extra time for their trips.
The good news is that grinding will be complete today, Aug. 7, and there will be other, less disruptive work going on for the remainder of this week. Paving should be done early next week, weather permitting, and pavement marking work will be done on an off-hour shift in late August, with some short-term closures.
